5 months - my favorite age yet!

Wells is the most precious 5-month old. He has grown by leaps and bounds, rolled over and discovered his little voice. He is a chatter box!

Since our 4 month visit we have gained 3 pounds and are a bruiser. Wellsy weighs a whopping 17 pounds and is a bundle of pure joy!

My mom always said 5 months was one of her favorite ages, and now I know why. He has become such a little person with so much zest and energy that is contagious.

At 5 months he is:

- 17 pounds
- Wearing 12 month clothing (we skipped 6 - 9 month clothing almost completely)
- Eating about 8 - 12 ounces per feeding
- Sleeping through the night, but loves to wake up at 5 a.m. and snuggle with mama and daddy!
- Rolling over
- Working real hard to sit up by himself
- Talking up a storm (must get that from his mama)
- Beginning to venture into solids, even though he does not swallow much yet.
- Beginning to grow a little hair
- Loves to smile all the time
- The only things that make him fussy is hunger and sleepiness
- Loves to watch his daddy
- Teething to beat the band and about to cut his first tooth
Buddy - Mama and Daddy are so proud of you and love you more than words can explain!

Snowmageddon!

Well, it is Super Bowl week in Dallas, and we have had unprecedented weather. Snow, snow and more snow. Oh yes, and ice! The driving conditions have been unbearable and the snow has been beautiful. We ventured out into the snow on day 4 and let Wells encounter his first taste of snow...

This is the view from our front porch.

Looking down the street. All you saw was white!

This is a view of our back yard.

We got a total of about 6 inches. It was only about 4 inches when I took this measurement.

Max and Wells. He tolerated the snow, but was not too thrilled with being cold.

Wells and Mommy.

All bundled up with my toys waiting on Grandma and Grandpa. They came to get him so Max and I could go play with our friends one evening.

Our little family and snow bunny.

My dear friend, Baylie, and me at their house with Mr. Snowman.

If you look close, the boys changed the snowman...inappropriate! This is me finding their change.

Then we went sledding with some of our dear friends down Flag Pole Hill. (Left to Right) Leslie, Me, Baylie and Amber.

The boys getting ready to go sledding. (Left to Right) Brad, Max, John, Dylan.

This is Max sledding down the hill! I love the expression on his face.
I had a ball sledding down the hill. And, yes, my coat is the big yellow lemon!

You can tell by my face that this was a blast!

The boys were throwing the football at each other as they sledded down the hill.

The boys after they finished playing football in the snow. (Left to Right) Luke, Brad, John, Andrew, Max and Dylan.

My sweet friend, Baylie, taking a picture of the boys.

Don't know what the boys are doing here - but a hilarious shot!

The girls, freezing, and ready for the boys to be finished playing football. (Left to Right) Leslie, Baylie, Me, Missy and Amber.

So, we decided to start playing in the snow!

And then we started posing for the camera!

After a long evening sledding, we all called it quits and went home to warm up!
We certainly took advantage of "snowmageddon" in Dallas. What fun we had and will remember our time in the snow for many years to come - or at least until we get to go sledding again.

Rollin', Rollin', Rollin'

Wells rolled over for the first time last Saturday. Below is the documentation of the encouragement it took from us to get him to do it! We are so proud of you, buddy!

Daddy got down there with me and told me I could do it!
He then told me to plant my hands and push hard!

I needed my pacifier when I took a break.

Enough of that pacifier, let's get to rollin'

Lean left. Mama, are you watching?

Went from left to right and then rolled!
I will try to get this on video! But, it was so fun to witness his first big step to mobility.

Celebrating Dolly and a Visit from Family!

Dolly recently had a birthday (as did Grandpa). Wells truly giggled for Dolly, which she said was the best birthday present she could have had! We loved celebrating with our Dolly and our Grandpa!

Trying to figure out what that black thing is in front of mom's face (our camera)!
A little coy for the camera!
Look at that face! This sweet boy sure does enjoy his groceries!

Mom - why are you making me wear this ridiculous hat?

Oh boy - bows and paper!

Everything goes in our mouth right now!

My blue sweater matches my eyes!

My great aunt Ainslee came to visit with Nunu (my cousin, Carol-Sidney)! Nunu is going to give me a new cousin in May and I can't wait to meet him!

Nunu also brought me this wonderful giraffe that makes my gums feel great! Thank you, Nunu!
