A very happy Memorial Day "Lost in the Pines"

Our family went to Lost Pines in Bastrop this past weekend to celebrate Memorial Day. It was so much fun and Wells thoroughly enjoyed all the attention he received.

He also really enjoyed wearing Grandma and Grandpa's hats...

After playing hard at the pool, Buddy decided he woudl take a nap outside wrapped in his pool towel.

After nap time, he was busy at play with the farm animals that make noise. Grandma loved to teach him about each animal.

And just when we got ready to go inside for a nap, he decided he was going to pose and model for us.

Day 2 started with another round of hats - this time Grandma's. I caught him with some hilarious looks on his face.

Are you serious, mom?

That night, he found a new friend to chew on - a wine bottle cork. What is genious about this is when he

My beautiful blue-eyed baby boy!

From dinner we went to S'more's. The best part of Lost Pines

Buddy did not make it that long...

The next morning, I woke up to this face...

And you can tell his excitement when we showed him his bottle. Little boy loves his food.

And when we tried to give him cheerios - not so much a fan...

And finally - chillin' with daddy before we headed home! Love my boys so much!

8 months (a bit late)

Wells is well into his 8th month of life. And, mom is a bit late. But, I wanted to make sure I recorded the highlights from his 8th month...

As you can see, this boy is true joy! He loves to smile, coo and make sweet noises. Rarely is he fussy (unless he is hungry or sleepy.)
Wells got his first two teeth this month. And, he had his first official visit to the dentist. Grandma, the dentist, that is. She cleaned his first two teeth on "Wellsday."

Wells also officially crawled for the first time on May 16. Yes, it was only about 3 steps forward on his hands and knees, but he did it.

Also during his 8th month of life he:

- is 20.3 pounds

- wears 12 - 18 month clothing

- sleeps from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. and an hour nap in the morning and 2 hour nap in the afternoon

- learned to stand for the first time

- loves to stand

- is turning over while I change his diaper

- is no longer still - busy boy!

- wears a size 4 diaper

- eats 32 ounces of milk (16 ounces of breast milk and 16 ounces of formula)

- eats Gerber 2nd's (1 in the morning, 2 at lunch and 2 at dinner)

- is starting to become clingy to mama and daddy

- knows definitively who is holding him and is decisive about whether he is comfortable with that or not

- still loves bath time and loves to "splish splash"

- got his first two teeth this month

- prefers standing to crawling

- loves his feet and his hands

- has discovered how to wave

Wellsy Bear - we love you so much and you are the greatest joy in our life! We so treasure every second we have with you! The Lord has richly blessed our family with you! We pray that God is preparing your heart to love and serve Him every day of your life! It is the greatest privilege on this earth to be your mama and daddy! We so look forward to seeing you grow up!

Nine month post coming soon!

Crabby Crawfish!

We attended a fabulous crawfish boil tonight at our dear friends, the DeJean's, house. Baylie and Brad hosted us and several other couples at their home and we had a great time! Thanks, Bay and Brad, for having us! You guys were definitely the 'hosts for the mosts!'

Our little family! Wells was on the move this evening.
Walking to the crawfish. Notice Wellsy has his crab outfit on (could not find one with a crawfish on it.)

"Hey Mom, what is that red thing on your plate? Can I have some crawfish?"

Turns out that other mommy's at the party went for the crab outfits too! So, we put all the babies together for a picture. Some enjoyed it more than others :)

Wells is learning to wave hello!

And Rachel, one of Wells' girlfriends, is pointing at the crab on Wells' tummy - so cute.

We look forward to next year! Such a fun evening out with our friends and their babies!

A visit with Great Grandpa Jodry!

This past weekend we travelled to San Antonio to celebrate Great Grandpa Jodry's birthday. He turned 89. We had a great time celebrating with the Jodry extended family and showing our Wellsy off. Wells got to meet many new family members he had never met before and as you can see, he ate it up!

Great Grandpa Jodry with his two great grandchildren, Otto and Wells.

I love my sweet little boy. It is rare to have pics of the two of us!

My favorite boys.

Wells loves it when Grandpa makes funny faces at him

Wells is fascinated with noses. His great uncle Tom let Wells play with his nose until his little heart was content...

Grabbing it... and look, I got it!

When you pull away, Uncle Tom, it makes me giggle!

Wells and Otto learning to share....

But, he became more interested in his wipes

Back at Great Grandpa's apartment, Wells just wanted to practice crawling (or trying to at least)

Great Grandpa Jodry loved holding Wells.

Sister Geri (yes, Grandpa Jodry and his wife, Betty, live in a retirement home with Nuns) loved to try and make Wells laugh. He WAS NOT having it! Sorry sister!

The sister below was actually the Nun who prayed for Wells while I was pregnant with him and had all of those complications. It was very neat and meaningful to meet her.

And how can you resist those cheeks?

I have seen this face before...he looks like his daddy here!

Three "Richard Jodry" generations...only missing Max's Daddy, Richard.

Uncle Tom and Aunt Irene (Max's aunt and uncle) with Wellsy.

Cousin Alice (who is from England) and has the most incredible accent

And finally I leave you with Uncle Tom doing wheelies in Great Grandpa's go-cart... priceless...
