First Easter

We had a fabulous Easter! Praise the Lord - our Savior is alive!

Every year, we have both families (and extended families) over for Easter lunch . Wellsy was such a big helper to get us ready. He is still not mobile, so this year was not too bad with trying to keep him in one place and occupied.

Wells playing sweetly while I buzzed around to get ready.

Flowers were soaking in the bath tub. Lots of arranging to do.

With the help of my grandmother and sweet Aunt Dee, the flowers were completed! And beautiful...

The dining room table is set.

My grandparents from Dallas were not feeling well and sent flowers as a way to let us know they were thinking of us. Such a sweet treat!

The breakfast room table is set.

And the Easter Bunny arrived.

Goodies for McCall and Wells.

Our handsome little guy who was loving the attention on Easter.

The entire Jodry Family.

Mommasissy and McCall. McCall was acting shy when we wanted to take her picture.

But we finally got her looking at the camera.

McCall then discovered that the Easter Bunny came and delivered some surprises for she and Wellsy.

But it is hard to say if Mommasissy was enjoying the surprises more than the children. :)

Uncle Al showed Wells the ropes on how to open an Easter basket.

And Wells got his bunny ears too...

Who knows what Al is doing in this picture - but it made me laugh.

Daddy did the honors of showing Buddy how to Easter egg hunt.

McCall truly seemed to understand the idea of "hunting"

And she found a nest!!!

And Buddy did too.

All four Jodry boys!
The Jodry clan again.

My sweet cousin, Rachel and me - right before dinner.

And, after all the excitement, I found Wells like this....

Playing with paper - one of his favorite things.

It was an incredible day with family and so much richer to have babies enjoy all that Easter brings. I pray our sweet little ones will one day soon understand the true meaning of Easter and accept Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior.

So close...

TO CRAWLING!!!

That is right, baby boy is working so hard on crawling. He is sooooo close. Below is the progression of the crawl-in-the-works..

This picture (above) is scary to me. I have seen that expression before...it looks like my face when I am intent and staring at something.
He has decided he is going to show off.

Thinking about it...

Put your right hand out, put your left hand out...

OK, Mama - are you watching?

Here I go!

Got on all 4's. Are you watchin' mama?

Just wanted you to stop and see how cute I am.

If I put my mouth in the right position, I will start to scoot backwards... and the scooting happens.

I did it, Mama!

We are so proud of you, buddy. You are officially scooting backwards. Won't be long before you are mobile - forwards. And then, baby proofing here we come.

29

Last Saturday, I celebrated my last birthday in my 20's. And it was a wonderful birthday. A great day filled with family time and of course...my favorite...a bike ride, shopping and a pedicure.

Shelby, Max and I attempted to take both of the babies on a bike ride together, in one buggy. All seemed well...

Until Wells could not sit up normally with the Bobby around him (that was my brilliance, or not so brilliance)

He then became very interested in McCall's binky and wanted to "touch". This was the beginning of the end...

Finally, we were off. And this is a pic of my sweet hubby pulling both kids...

The wheels fell off about 15 minutes into the ride - when we were about 5 blocks from the house. And then Wells cried the entire way home. And, McCall had sympathy cries the entire way.

That night, after we got the babies down, we had a wonderful dinner and celebration.

One last wish for my 20's.

My sweet parents cuddled up.

And my sweet hubby who made the day wonderful as well.

Sorry, Sis, I do not have any pics of you. She was a huge part of the day too.

I love my family. Thanks for a wonderful birthday.

Lost in the Pines

We recently went to Lost Pines in Bastrop, Texas with the Jodry's. We loved our time there and Wells certainly did too. He loves being outside.

Wells loves to travel, just like his Mama and Daddy.
Uncle Al and Wells. He loves his Uncle Al.

Love my family! The three of us on the Colorado River

And, love the smile on this little one's face.

(don't u just love the socks...that is his banker look curteousy of the Jodrys.)

But, most of the day outside you would see this....

Richard - 20 feet ahead of us in his own little world with Buddy. He loves to walk little bit around and spend some quality time with just him.

Thanks, Jodry's, for a wonderful trip. We loved being with you.

Catching up on 7 months!

Now that Wells is officially half-way through his 7th month of life, I am just now finding the time to post on his 6th and 7th months of life. Here is to catching up on your life, buddy...

Our beautiful blue eyed little boy is becoming more and more active and is starting to move! Watch out, world.

In your 7th month you are:

- 26 3/4 inches long (50th percentile) - even though I feel you are way taller than most of your friends...

- 19.1 pounds (75th percentile) - and half way through your 7th month of life you officially crossed into the 20 pound club.

- head is 45.5 cm (80th percentile) - your body is starting to catch up with your head!!! :) Three cheers for big heads. You have your daddy to thank for that one.

- Trying desperately to crawl.

- Started to sleep on your side

- Move from a sitting position to your stomach.

- Know how to scoot backwards (crawling forward is coming soon.)

- Learning how to exert your will when we remove objects from your hands and don't feed you as quickly as you would like. We are working on being demanding. :)

- Love to eat in the bathtub.

- Eat two Gerber 2nd foods at lunch and 2 at dinner - with your 8 ounce bottles.

- Have started getting sad and dropping that lower lip when mommy or daddy leave your sight.

- Have become a little funny about who you will go to.

- Giggle uncontrollably when Mama and Daddy play the "Getcha Game"

- Love Baby Einstein

- Love adventures outside

- Still don't love the car seat or the stroller.

- Your favorite toys are your Johnny Jump-Up and your play mat that has animal sounds.

Wells, you are pure joy to your Mama and Daddy. We love you more than words can express. We are so proud of the little boy you are becoming. Can't wait to see you on the move and in action.

And yes, Wells' favorite thing to do at my mom's is play in his frog with the balls...

6 months - a little late.

Well, yes, I am very late on the 6 month post. In fact, I am about to post the 7 month post too!

So a little bit about our Wellsy at 6 months...

Wells is:

25.5 inches (50th percentile)

18.3 pounds (75th percentile)

44.3 cm head (90th percentile)

- has discovered different pitches in his voice

- is sitting up on his own

- is very aware of people he sees frequently

- loves bath time

- splashes a lot in bath time

- still does not really like his car seat

- not a huge fan of the stroller or bike trailer yet

- loves being outside

- loves his Johnny Jump-Up

- started eating solid foods. He loves: squash, banannas, applesauce, sweet potatoes, peaches, green beans. He does not care for: green peas

- still takes 4 8-oz bottles each day. Half formula, half breast milk

- his bottle is still his favorite thing

- wakes up every morning to get in bed and snuggle for an hour with Mama

- loves to snuggle and touch my face

My two favorite "mommy moments" happened when he was 6 months.

1) Holding him during Top Golf and he grabbed my face, turned my face towards him and gave me a huge kiss.

2) He crawled in bed with me one Saturday morning, put his hand on my face and "sighed" and then went back to sleep.

Our Wellsy is so sweet! We are very blessed.

Below is a picture of one of Wells' many girlfriends, Aubrey. Wells loved her and Aubrey was reserved in her opinion. It's ok buddy, the beginning of girls playing hard to get!
